봄이 오면 생각나는 슬픈 동화같은 노래

There once was a king who called for the spring 
옛날 어느 옛날 따스한 봄을 애타게 기다리는 왕이 있었다. 
For his world was still covered in snow 
왕의 나라는 아직도 추운겨울이 계속되고 있기 때문에... 
But the spring had not been for 
근데 봄이 오지 않는다면 
He was wicked and mean in his winter fields 
nothing would grow. 
아무것도 자랄수 없는 황량한 겨울들판과 함께 왕도 쓸쓸했다. 
And when a traveler called help at the door 

only food and a bed for the night 
어느날 추위를 피해 음식과 잠자리를 부탁하는 여인이 있었다.
He ordered his slave to turn her away 
왕은 짜증을 내며 쫒아내라고 하인에게 소리쳤다.

그 여인이 바로 봄의 전령사였음을 왕은 몰랐던 것이다. 
She road through the night 
그 여인은 매서운 겨울바람을 맞으며 추운밤길은 걸었다. 
Till she came to the light of a humble man's home in the woods 
기진맥진 그 여인은 숲속의 한 마음착한 남자의 집에 도착 했다. 
He brought her inside by the fire light 
그 남자는 그 여인에게 따듯한 음식과 불로 정성껏 간호했다. 
She died and buried her gently and good 
그러나 그 여인은 너무나 쇠약해졌기에 숨을 거두고 말았다. 
The morning was bright all the world snow white 
그 여인이 떠난 후의 아침은 하얀 눈으로 뒤덮힌 겨울이었다,
But when he came to the place where she lay 
그런데 이상한 변화가 있었으니, 그녀의 무덤가는
His field was ablaze with flowers on the grave 
온통 아름다운 꽃으로 만발해 있었던 것이었다.

떠나간 그녀는 착한남자에게 따스한 봄을 선사한 것이다.
